Group under the aegis of Urhobo National Youth Congress is to honour Delta State Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Aspirant in 2015, Prince Christmas Akpodiete with the Prestigious Merit Gold award.
The group in a statement made available to Urhobotoday said they are honouring Akpodiete who is a human right activist and Abuja lawyer with prestigious award based on his track records of his humanitarian service to the society. It added that award ceremony has been slated for April.
Akpodiete who is yet to formerly declare his governorship aspiration under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State but reports quoting him in print and social media of his intention to occupy Delta State House come 2015 is the National Coordinator, United Front for President Jonathan/Sambo, son of renown lawyer, Late Chief (Dr) Ekuo Akpodiete of blessed memory, a legal icon of Grey’s Inn London and of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
In the second Republic his father was a strong political ally of Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Dr Edwin Clark and Chief David Dafinone, among others.
