LAGOS JULY 29TH (URHOBOTODAY)Group under the aegis of Urhobo Nationality Council (UNC) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the appointment of Brig. Gen P.T. BOROH as Coordinator of the Amnesty Office.
The group appealed to their Ijaw brothers and other ethnic nationalities to rally round the President Buhari and the new Amnesty Coordinator in moving Niger Delta region and nation forward by disregarding any call that would bring their hard earned peace and inter ethnic harmony into disarray.

Making the commendation in a statement signed by its National leader, Olorogun Jaro Egbo made available to Urhobotoday, an online medium, the group observed that the appointment of Boro as head of the Agency would no doubt strengthen and eliminate all inherent weaknesses and corruption that has weighed down the effective operation of the Amnesty Office
According to the statement, “The appointment is in line with our position that rather than scrap the programme it should be reorganised and strengthened to enhance its effectiveness and focus on addressing the plight of the ex militants and we fevently believe that by the appointment of Brig.Gen PT BOROH a world renowned peacekeeping expert, he will deploy his wealth of experience garnered over the years to rise to the occasion and do the various ethic nationalities proud and indeed the nation.
“As a thorough bred son of Ijaw and indeed Niger Delta,His well known antecedent as a disciplined, honest and incorruptible Officer and a gentlemen will no doubt will be brought to bear in the running the Amnesty Office and eliminate the twin evil of Oil theft and pipeline vandalism which has cost our dear nation billions of dollars and it’s attendant environmental degradation.}
“Once more, we commend Mr President for this appointment and congratulates all Niger Deltans for this glorious and auspicious appointment.
We urge all our people to support the administration of President Buhari to bring about the positive change. God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the statement disclosed.
