Uduaghan Finishing Strong, Commissions Warri-Effurun Fly Over Bridge

LAGOS APRIL 17TH (URHOBOTODAY)-There is no doubt that Delta State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan is fulfilling the objective of his slogan ‘Finishing Strong’ with the commissioning of the Warri-Effurun flyover bridge constructed over the busy Effurun roundabout in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.
It would be recalled that before now, the governor had assured critics that the two over head bridge projects which took off at the tail end of his administration would be completed and commissioned before he lives office.
Thus, he proved doubting Thomas wrong when he completed and commissioned Asaba fly over bridge last week. The Governor finally sealed up any benefit of doubt over his administration ability to perform as promised by commissioning the Warri-Effurun fly over bridge on Friday.
The commissioned project is a four-lane flyover bridge with both sides of the dual-carriageway measuring approximately one kilometer. It was constructed at a cost of about N4.1 billion.
Uduaghan, who unveiled the bridge during an impressive ceremony on the bridge on Friday, noted that the promise of his administration to finish strong was not a fluke as the people had witnessed numerous projects commissioned across the state especially in the last few weeks.
The Effurun Roundabout flyover bridge is the second of such projects to be commissioned by Dr Uduaghan within a space of about two weeks.
The N3.5 billion Summit Round/Inter-Bau Junction Flyover Bridge in Asaba, the state capital, was commissioned earlier by the governor.
N4 billion for flyover bridge for warri/Effurun? Na how many people the bridge go employ? With the heavy crime in Warri/Effurun where people cannot leave their home after 6.30pm, what sensible business is going to come into the area even with this bridge? Why was the money not spent building an industry that would deal with the huge unemployment and revive dead businesses in our community? The bridge is not an income generating asset much less employment generating. Just like everything PDP, they waste our little resources and tell us they are the best thing we could ever hope for and that they have won the elections again with a landslide.
