SURE-P: 120 Youths of Patani LG to Benefit from Job Training

LAGOS JUNE 24TH (URHOBOTODAY) In an effort to reduce unemployment in Patani Local Government Area Council, the Chairman of the Council, Dr. Chris Ekiyor has embarked on providing training for 120 youths in the local government as beneficiaries of the Council Subsidiary Reinvestment Programme 9SURE-P)
The youths according to report reaching Urhobotoday would be train on plumbing and tiling, catering, tailoring and Information Computer Technology (ICT).

Speaking to our correspondent, Dr. Ekiyor disclosed that the training modules have been specially package to be less theoretical and more practical with entrepreneurial knowledge so that on graduation they could be self-employed.
While tasking participants to be serious with the programme, Dr. Ekiyor revealed that the trainees will be paid some monthly financial stipends while starter packs in various trades would be presented to successful graduates at the end of the months training period.
Dr. Ekiyor said trainees must see themselves as worthy pioneers and are expected to justify the confidents repose in them in the selection process and make sure the objectives of the SURE-P which is to positively impact the act of self reliance on the citizens is achieved.
He enjoined them to adequately utilise the golden opportunity wisely particularly at this time when seeking a paid job is almost impossible.
In his speech, the Commissioner for Directorate of Local Government Affairs, Barr. Neword Safugha who flagged off the SURE-P in Patani enjoined Local Government Councils in Delta State to include the physically persons in their Council Areas in the SURE-P so as to have a sense of belonging since the programme is to empower those at the grassroots economically.
Barr. Safugha thanked the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan for initiating the programme and releasing the funds for its intended purpose. He further appealed to participants to see the Programme as their means of livelihood by putting their best to become somebody useful to the society.
