Rotaract Club Honours Urhobotoday Correspondent, Ibebe Rufus

LAGOS DECEMBER 25TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Rotaract Club of Ughelli Metropolis, Delta State has bestowed an award of the “Most Supportive Rotaractor for the Rotary year of 2014/2015” on Delta State Correspondent of Urhobotoday, an online medium, Mr Rufus Ibebe Akpobome
The award was presented to him recently on the occasion of the installation ceremony of Rotr. Paulwinger Omonighare as the Second President of Rotaract Club of Ughelli Metropolis.
While presenting the award to him, the President stated that the award was given to Ibebe
Rufus because of his enormous support to the club toward the service of humanity.
He disclosed that Ibebe Rufus deserve the award because of his support to the club in his quest to serve humanity,
His words, “On behalf of the Rotaract Club of Ughelli Metropolis, I present this award to you for
the wonderful support that you have rendered to this club. We deem it fit to give you this award because you have supported the club so much in our quest to selflessly serve humanity. Indeed you have distinguished yourself as a man that can render selfless service to
humanity”.
Addressing the audience, elated Ibebe Rufus said, “I specially dedicate this award to God Almighty, my family members, friends and all those that have dedicated themselves to the selfless service of humanity. I wish to state that, I will forever serve humanity even if it means scarifying my wealth and comfort as a human being. I am truly honoured to receive this award and like Nelson Mandela (who is my mentor), I dedicate my life to the selfless service of humanity”.
Also, Rotarian Uti Gilbert (Assistant District Governor zone 9) and Rotn. Grace Akpodiate (President Rotary Club of Ughelli Metropolis), were given Platinum awards while Rotn. Theresa Uvieghara (Past
president Rotary Club of Ughelli Metropolis) was given Gold Award. Rotn Wilfred Ovuorayevbie (President Elect Rotary Club of Ughelli Metropolis) was given an Award of Excellence while Hon. Friday Ijomone received Hospitality award. Rotr Choice Oghuvwu and Rotr. Bernard Arima was awarded as the most rotating Rotarctor and Best Rotaractor respectively.
Rotaract is an international organization of service club that encourages high ethical standards in business and promotes international understanding and peace in the world. It I a Youth wing of Rotary international. The club emphasis the importance of individual responsibility as the basis of personal success and community involvement. Rotaract membership is open to every Youth between the ages of 18-30 in the society. Rotaract Club of Ughelli meets every first and third Sundays of the month at Fri High Hotel, Ekiugbo- Ughelli, Delta State by 4:30pm.
