Ex-DESOPADEC Scribe, Osawota Drums Support for Okowa as Urhobo Group Vows to Unite Orogun

JANUARY 27TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Former Secretary-General of DESOPADEC and Patron of Orogun Unity Group Chief (Barr.) A.K. Osawota has on called on Urhobo sons and daughters to vote for Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa of People Democratic Party (P.D.P) i as governor of the state in the forth coming governorship election.
Osawota made the call over the weekend during the inauguration ceremony of the executive of Orogun Unity Group at Ughelli, Ughelli North L.G.A, Delta State
OsawOta who advised Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) to tread softly for the overall interest of the Urhobo Nation, just as he urged Urhobos to support Okowa for governor so that they would get support from other ethnic nationalities in the future.
He advised that “if the Urhobo nation cannot be become kings, then they should become king makers.”
He enjoined the new executives of Orogun Unity Group to be focus and do everything possible to ensure that they achieve the aims and objectives of the body. He reminded them that they were inaugurated as leaders to ensure that Orogun kingdom is united politically in other to attract more dividends of democracy to the people of Orogun kingdom.
The new Chairman of Orogun Unity Group, Onakpoma Joseph disclosed that the group was set up through the inspiration of God, stressing that the organization is composed of well spirited sons and daughters of Orogun kingdom with the vision of uplifting the kingdom by uniting the kingdom politically. While addressing press men some few minutes after the inauguration, the Treasurer of the group Comrade Akpude Gabriel thanked all those that contributed in one way or the other to make the inauguration successful. He said he was overwhelmed by the large turn out of people who came to witness the occasion.
He stated that the gathering was the first of its kind in the history of Orogun kingdom. He called on all sons and daughters of Orogun kingdom that has the interest of developing the kingdom to come and join the group. He specially appreciated Chief Barr. A.K. Osawota, Comrade John Iwehama, Chief P.O.C, United Nation Ambassador on Millennium Development Goal, Amb. Karo Ekewenu and Chief Esombi Jones among others for the pivotal role they played towards the formation and sustenance of the Group.
In the same vein, , the Public Relations Officer (P.R.O) of the Group, Mr. Onovughe Benson promised that the newly inaugurated executives would not betray the trust that has been imposed on them.
He said they have all been tested and found to be worthy of the various positions that have been bestowed on them. He assured all sons and daughters of Orogun kingdom that the group would bring about the desire unity of the kingdom.
Dignitaries present at the ceremony include former chairman of Ughelli South, Chief Oviri Otu, former Vice Chairman of Ughelli North L.G.A, Hon. Franklin Edevwie, Bishop Johnson Ojakovo and
Engr. Austin Ono-Oyefia among other prominent sons and daughters of Orogun Kingdom.
The newly inaugurated executives of the group includes Hon. Onakpoma Joseph as chairman, Chief Emubare Alex as Vice Chairman, Hon. Ohrerh Demus as Secretary, Comrade Akpude Gabriel as Treasurer, Mr. Onovughe Benson as P.R.O and Chief Peter Abu as Youth leader.
Evang. Becky Idiebise was inaugurated as Women Leader while Hon. Barr. Etinagdia Goodluck was inaugurated as the Legal adviser of the group.
The newly inaugurated executives of the group includes Hon. Onakpoma Joseph as chairman, Chief Emubare Alex as Vice Chairman, Hon. Ohrerh Demus as Secretary, Comrade Akpude Gabriel as Treasurer, Mr. Onovughe Benson as P.R.O and Chief Peter Abu as Youth leader. Evang. Becky idiebise was inaugurated as Women Leader while Hon.
