LAGOS MARCH 27TH (URHOBOTODAY)-As Christians celebrate Easter today, the Managing Director of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) Olorogun Williams Makinde, has called on Deltans to emulate the virtues of forgiveness and self-sacrifice as exhibited by Jesus Christ in order to move the State forward.
Makinde made the call during an interview session with press men shortly after the Investiture Service of the Ughelli Diocese of the Anglican Communion which held at the All Saint Cathedral Ughelli .
The Managing Director , in his message, said recrimination, unforgiveness and selfishness were major clogs in the state wheel of progress.
According to him, “The Easter celebration is another reminder that forgiveness and self-sacrifice remain indispensable factors in building Delta State of our Dream. I, therefore, call on the Christian faithful and all Deltans to imbibe Christ’s sense of self-sacrifice by putting the State interest above personal Interest.
Makinde urged Deltans to support Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa in Transforming the State, just as he sue for peace between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh people .
