DPP Bigwig, Oharume Withdraws from Sapele LGA Chairmanship Race

LAGOS JULY 30TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Chief Abel Izomare Oharume out spoken and vibrant chairmanship aspirant under the platform of the Democratic People Party (DPP) for the position of Chairmen of Sapele Local Government Council in the forth coming Local Government election has withdrawn from the race.
Announcing his stepping down from the race to URHOBOTODAY in Sapele during the weekend, Oharume disclosed that he decided to withdrew from the race as necessitated by the present political atmosphere in Delta Central (Urhobo land) and Delta State in general, adding that he was stepping down for a higher future political position where he could serve his people of Sapele and the entire Urhobos better.
According to him,‘‘As you can see as a result of the present political situation in Delta State, I Chief Abel Izomare Oherume hereby withdraw from the Local Government Council Chairmanship race for Sapele Local Government Area. This is to enable me serve my good people of Sapele and Urhobo in a greater capacity and adjust to the prevailing political circumstances and align with the yearning and aspiration of my people”.
The DPP top Shot who appealed to his supporters for understanding and co-operation, adding that he believe very much in his supporters in Sapele and as such they should stand firm hence where he is going to would be more better for them.
“My stepping down from the race has nothing to do with the any external or other political parties interference nor neither a pressure from anybody for me to do so. I did it after due consultation with my supporters. For the past two weeks we arrived at the conclusion that I should step down from the Sapele Local Government Council Chairmanship race. I thank you for the support and your cooperation! Change is the only thing that is constant,” Oharume maintained.
Oherume who has been a very vocal voice and a top candidate of the DPP as far as the Local Government election is concerned in Sapele L.G.A., however called on the people of Sapele to extend their usual hands of fellowship they gave him during his race for Sapele L.G.A Chairman as far as his future political career is concerned, just as he acknowledged the fact that there are lots of challenges ahead.
