Delta State: Vigilante Chairman, Scribe, 2 Others in Police Net over Kidnap of 3-yr-Old Boy

LAGOS JULY 20TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Police in Delta State have arrested four suspects, including the chairman and secretary of a vigilance group, who allegedly abducted a three-year-old boy, Destiny Osanebi, from his parents’ home at Ashaka, Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State four days ago.
Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba, who confirmed the arrest of three of the suspects, Thursday, gave their names as Oyibosochukwu, Goddy and Uzor.
He said they were nabbed with two guns and subsequently led police detectives to where the victim was kept.

Little Destiny, whose father, Mr. Lucky Osanebi, is the elder brother of the member, representing Ndokwa East Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Friday Osanebi was released, unhurt.
Hon Osanebi, who confirmed the release of Destiny to Saturday Vanguard, Thursday morning, commended the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba, for his swift response to his call to track down the kidnappers and effect the release of his nephew.
“No ransom was paid and no ransom was collected”, a visibly impressed Hon Osanebi said, adding, “The police carried out a commendable operation and I commend the Commissioner of Police.”
The kidnappers had on Tuesday morning demanded N10 million for the release of little Destiny and by Wednesday, it was further reduced to N3 million.
Investigation by Vanguard showed that the three-year-old Destiny was abandoned in the bush, a grassland behind a mortuary between Ashaka and Kwale on Thursday morning, where he was picked up by a farmer.
