LAGOS JUNE 28TH (URHOBOTODAY) The Family of Aleka in Aladja town, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, over the weekend raised an alarm on alleged indiscriminate selling of some part of their landed property measuring about 63 acres situated at Ubuvu Quarters in Aladja, Delta State by the duo of Pa. Eberuvwe and Tony Onokere who claimed to be Elder and Chairman of Otobozi Family respectively.
Urhobotoday gathered that the landed property was put under the care of the duo as caretaker after the death of the complainants’ father Pa Olo Tigbe under the binding agreement that the land should not be encroached by anyone including adjustment of the boundaries.
But to the dismay of the members of Aleka’s family, the duo of Pa Eberuvwe and Tony Onokere have been illegally selling some part of the land put under their caretaker ship to unsuspecting buyers.
Consequently, members of Aleka’s family who described the act as illegal and fraudulent met and came out with a resolution in a written communiqué warning intending buyers to desist from the illegal act, stressing that those who have already parted with money in view of illegally purchasing part of their family’s land have done so at their own peril.
Thus, in a communiqué signed by Solomon Olo on behalf of members of Aleka family made available to newsmen at Aladja, they disclosed that they put the landed property under the care of Pa. Eberuvwe and Tony Onokere after the death of their father and were charged with the responsibility of ensuring that there was no encroachment on any part of the land and its boundary adjustment until the family would be ready to share the land among the Aleka descendants.
According to the communiqué, “But to the greatest surprise and chagrin of members of Aleka Family most parts of the land were sold by duo contrary to their given mandate.”
The communiqué further stressed, “Recently, we the descendants of Aleka have observed that Pa Eberuvwe and Tony Onokere Committee have wantonly been allocating plots of land to some youths in Otobozi quarters and selling parts of the land to individuals and corporate organizations without the knowledge of Aleka Family, who are the bonafide owners of the landed property.”
The statement further disclosed that as a result of the obnoxious and illegal attitude of the duo of Pa Eberuvwe and Tony Onokere, the Aleka Family unanimously endorsed the dissolution of the Caretaker Committee on account of abuse of office, breach of trust and abominable act of atrocities.
The Aleka Family in the communiqué subsequently warned intended buyers to desist from further negotiating with the duo with respect to the aforementioned landed property, just as they warned those that have allegedly giving money to any of the two of them in view of purchasing portion of land from their property to have done so at their own risk.
