Crisis Looms in E.K.Clark’s Community over Imposition of Councillorhip Candidate Who Scored One Vote

Ijaw Leader Chief E.K.Clark (l) and Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan (r)

LAGOS AUGUST 11TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Crisis looms in Ijaw Leader, Chief Edwin Clark community of Kiagbodo over alleged imposition of a councillorship candidate, Charles Masah Aresuogha in ward 13 , Ngbilebiri 11, Kiagbodo / Bikorogha who scored only one vote in the just concluded councillorship local government election.
A statement signed by a legal icon and human activist, Barr. Omemiroro Maxwell Ogedegbe made available to Urhobotoday in which Delta State State Governor Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, Delta State PDP Chairman, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi, Chief Dr. E. k Clark, Chairman PDP Burutu Local Government Area, Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, Hon. Asupa Forteta, Mr. G. T Government, Hon. Daniel Yingi, Hon. Frank Enekorogha and Hon. Dr. Brados Angozie were copied complained that the indigenes of Kiagbodo and Bikorogha community are in agony owing to the rumour of the super imposition of Charles Masah Aresuogha who scored only a single vote in the election for ward 14 as against Sunny Urukpeti who scored 10 votes and emerged victorious.
Ogedegbe in the statement said by the manner and outcome of the primary election, Hon. Joe Asieye Fuludu Alubaze emerged winner for ward 14 Kiagbodo having scored 12 votes defeating his only opponent Godwin Perebi Gbogiemi who had 5 votes, while for ward 13 Sunny Urukbiti emerged as the winner having scored 10 votes defeating his various opponents Adama Matthew Kpemusiobe who scored 4 votes, Paul Oruma scored 1 vote, Philip Yinware scored 1 vote and Charles Masah Aresuogha 1vote. .
According to Ogedegbe, “Sadly, after all community elders, leaders, youths and eminent indigenes of the duo community had witnessed the most freely conducted election, some good for nothing political Lilliputians basking on their unholy relationship with some power marauders within the Burutu axis have converted our gains of democracy to serious pains, as by their conduct the primary election was academic and of no consequence as to who becomes the party’s flag bearer.
“I am particularly appalled at the silence of the Burutu chairman; the connivance and conspiracy from supposed elders and leaders of the PDP not withstanding as their generation belong to the medieval era where primary elections are only to rationalize decisions reached by power that be. I am infuriated by the fact that these politicians are yet to wake up from their slumber to realize this is a democracy where the will of the people must prevail.”
Ogedegbe consequently appealed to Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan to intervene as the situation will surely collapse the resurfacing interest of the Community in the PDP as there is no gain saying that the PDP has in the time past suffered some infertility in the communities.
