At last Uduaghan stops Abandoned Asaba Stadium contract ……Sapele stadium to host Junior Athletics April
THE governor of Delta State Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has finally ordered the stoppage of the long abandoned Asaba Stadium.
The complex which was started by the former governor James Ibori has been starved of funds which led to its abandonment by the contractor handling it.
The Stadium which is situated in the capital of the State ought to have got a priority attention by the present government but rather the reverse has been the case.
Asaba many observers believe should get a befitting Stadium as the seat of government but now that the governor has finally stopped work going on in the place and no definite time for resumption
It then meant that it has to wait until thy kingdom come.
“The governor has promised that Sapele Stadium will be ready in April. He was not happy that the Warri City Stadium which was damaged by the rain storm was still left undone.
He further disclosed that the City Stadium will wear a new look before the commencement of the new Nigeria Premier League (NPL) season.
“I will do more for sports for what they did in the last National Sports Festival EKO2012 in Lagos last year. The Sapele Stadium will be ready for action April” he revealed.
Attempts to get across Delta Government to confirm the story was futile as test messages and call put on to Delta State Commissioner for Information was futile.
