LAGOS JULY 2ND (URHOBOTODAY)-In response to Delta State All Progressive Congress, APC parlance of “APC Take Over Delta”, Speaker Delta State House of Asembly, Hon Monday Igbuya has described members of APC in Delta State as dreamers who are building castle in the air.
While commending Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for his administrative style, Igbuya said the All Progressives Congress (APC) had disappointed Nigerians at home and abroad.
“Delta State is one of the most performing states in this dispensation and as such APC leaders in the state should stop building castles in the air. They should stop dreaming. APC cannot win in Delta State, ” Igbuya told AC leaders.
Thanking Okowa for providing purposeful leadership and promoting the interest of the people of Delta State, Igbuya enjoined Deltans at home and abroad to join hands with the governor to develop the state.
“Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is committed to the growth and development of Delta State. The state is moving in the right direction. Okowa has performed well within the meager resources available to the state,”Igbuya observed.
Describing Okowa as a benchmark for outstanding achievements in the country, Igbuya noted, “Okowa is a dogged politician imbued with inspiring developmental and intellectual zeal. He remains the measurement of positive leadership, courage, good governance, accountability and performance in the country.
“As Speaker and Chairman of the House caucus, there was no meeting where the Honourable Members of the Delta State House of Assembly complained about the performance of the governor. The members are satisfied with the performance of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa” Igbuya told reporters in Asaba.”
Igbuya who praised Okowa for his high level of transparency and accountability, stressed on the dwindling allocation to the states from the federal Government.
He attributed the paucity of funds in Delta State to the negative impact of series of oil pipeline bombing by the new militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers.
“Despite the lean purse of the state and the dwindling national economy, Delta State is up to date in its obligations to workers. Governor Ifeanyi Okowa places priority attention to the welfare of the entire work force in the state by ensuring regular payment to the civil servants,” he stated.
