Jail Break: 11 Inmates Escape from Sapele Jail
Eleven inmates at Government Remand Home, Sapele in Delta State have escaped after successfully cutting the iron bars even as a bomb was diffused from a residential building.
The t incidents were confirmed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO Mr. Famous Ajieh in a press release issued, Sunday, in Asaba.
According to him, “on the fateful day at about 0830 hours, one Lucky Egbelughe, male , a senior staff of Sapele Remand Home reported at Sapele police station that on the same date at about 0100 hours, eleven inmates escaped from the Remand Home by cutting the iron bars fence.
“However, two of the escapees, one Junior Akudo male and Green Glory male all aged 20 years were re-arrested at Warri by policemen from ‘A’ Division Warri.
“The suspects were members of a notorious criminal gang terrorizing Warri and environs and were remanded at Sapele Remand Home by a magistrate court Warri before their escape.
