A house help, Mary Francis who allegedly conspired with her boy friend Igwu Ogana Mathew and driver to her mistress Anayo Alayefule to rob her mistress of her belonging ranging from cash to jewelries confessed that her mistress was not feeding her well, adding that she drinks only garri in the home.
Asked if that was why she conspired with the aforementioned men to rob her mistress, Mary who claimed to have worked with her mistress for about two months denied, saying she was not part of the robbery plan.
Urhobotoday gathered from police source at Panti CID that in the month of December 2012, Mary was alleged to have met his boyfriend at Shagamu Motor Park where they discussed about the financial background of Mary’s mistress and Mary was alleged to have disclosed to the boyfriend that her madam have in her possession some amount of Dollars and other valuable items..
According to police report, on January 4th, 2013, at about 1930 hours the complainant’s entrance gate was intentional opened by the house girl which gave easy entrance to the armed robbers into the complainants apartment. The robbers attacked her in her bedroom, tied her and ransacked her bedroom. The robbers finally went away with one Honda Civic Saloon car, one laptop, the sum of N200,000, $3,000, jewelries worth N2m and five assorted handsets.
During investigation, police traced the principal suspect Mathew to Iyalla, Cross Rivers State where he escaped to but was later arrested at his residence at Owode Egba, Ogun State, where one of the stolen handsets, 81 pieces of Dollars suspected to be fake were recovered from him.
Mathew who regretted his action told Urhobotoday that after the robbery operation, he had not set his eyes on Mary and as such had not been able to give her, her own share of the booty.
Police said the suspects will appear in court very soon
