LAGOS MAY 4TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Delta State Peoples Democratic Party Governorship aspirant in 2007 general election, Chief Sunny Onuesoke has rebuked Second Republic Lawmaker, Junaid Mohammed statement against Ijaw lLeader saying he, Junaid cannot separate Jonathan from Edwin Clark.
Reacting to Junaid recent statement in the media advising Jonathan to distance himself from the Former Minister of Information over his despicable utterance that may likely create more problems for the nation, Onuesoke who is the Country Director of Network for Good Governance (N4GG) did not only waved aside Junaid’s allegations, he, however, maintained that the elder statesman and a nationalist has the right not only President Goodluck Jonathan but any leader in Nigeria.
He stressed that Edwin Clark’s advises to Jonathan have been the motivating factors behind President Goodluck Jonathan good governance.
Clark, according to him is a father, experienced administrator and politician who had been using his wealth of knowledge in monitoring, guiding, protecting and motivating President Goodluck Jonathan in moving Nigerian forward despite various challenges from oppositions.
“Edwin Clark is not only a father to Jonathan, he is a father to the Ijaws, people of Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole. His administrative and political wealth of experience cannot be shelved aside. As a father, there is no way Edwin Clark will misdirect President Goodluck Jonathan,” Onuesoke disclosed.
Onuesoke argued that there is no time Edwin Clark had made despicable utterances that create more problems in the land, adding that rather the Ijaw leader adivises were geared towards create peace and unity in the country.
“Clark has spoken about fair share of the resources in the country. He had called on Boko Haram to shield their swords. He had been propagandist of Goodluck Jonathan’s second term. Are the aforementioned advises by Clark problematic statement? Nigerians, not only Goodluck Jonathan need the wealth of experience of the old man to move on. Clark is a lawyer who practiced for many years, he was a former Commissioner in defunct Western Region, a Minister and a Senator in the Second Republic,” Onuesoke disclosed, just as he appealed to Junaid Mohammed to withdraw the statement and apologise to Chief Edwin Clark.
