Three Arrested for Allegedly Drugging Chinese Businessman, Steal N2.5m

Police detectives in Lagos have arrested three persons for allegedly drugging a 61 year-old Chinese business man before carting away the sum of N2.5m and 500 Dollars cash belonging to the victim.
The suspects simply identified as Roland Okolie, Ifeanyi and Simon allegedly were also alleged to have carted away goods worth millions of naira belonging to the Chinese businessman.

Parading the suspects before news men at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, the Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko stated that it is a new trend currently employed by criminals.
According to him, the suspects lured the Chinese identified as Cang bo Fang, to Nigeria about five months ago with a Business proposal.
“The victim, having bought the proposal came to Nigeria with several container load of communication equipments and Handkerchief. The suspects kept the Chinese at Kelvison International Hotel, Agric bus stop, Ojo” he added.
Manko stated further that, having perfected their game plan, the suspects drugged the food they gave the Chinese, a day to the day he was to go back to China.
The Lagos State Police boss revealed that on the morning of January 25, 2013, the suspects raided the warehouse belonging to the Chinese and carted away goods worth millions of naira. According to him before raiding the victims wharehouse the suspects assured that the man was unconscious as a result of the drug effect effects to the Chinese man wherehouse keys, handset, N2.5m and 500 Dollar cash.
“It was when they were in the process of looting the man’s property that a Chinese lady who also own a warehouse close to the victim became suspicious and demanded to know the where about of the 61 year old man. When she got to the hotel she met the man unconscious. She then raised an alarm” he added.
Manko stated that the Command was going to hold security meeting with hotel owners in Festac to educate them on the need to provide bettersecurity network around their business place.
