LAGOS DECEMBER 1ST (URHOBOTODAY)-The Chairman of the constituted electoral committee of the coming Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), General Obada was reported to have resigned on Wednesday evening.
Urhobotoday learnt that the retired general allegedly resigned due to an insulting and disgraceful letter sent to him by the UPU President Joe Omene.
The report alleged that General Obada, who is a man of integrity felt that Joe Omene wants to use him to rig UPU election hence his resignation.
Just few days to the UPU general election the organization seems to enmesh in crisis which might affect the election. Already there is a court injunction stopping the election and stripping Omene of the position of President General of the Urhobo foremost organisation until the case before it is resolved.
If things continue like this, it all boils down to the fact that the UPU general election will be indefinitely postponed till a new electoral committee is constituted.
