Group Cries Fowl over Imposition of Obuh, Says its Continuation of Uduaghan’s Maladministration

LAGOS SPETEMBER 23RD (URHOBOTODAY)-Group under the aegis of Delta Arise has condemned in strong term the propose imposition of former Permanent Secretary in Government House, Mr Anthony Obuh as Governor of Delta State by Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan describing the intention as continuation of Uduaghan’s poor performance and another eight years of suffering for the people of Delta State.
The group in a statement signed by its President, Dr Michael Ifeanyi recalled that the people of Delta State have experienced the worst in term of infrastructural development, poor health services, non-availability of jobs, inflation of contracts that were not executed and other administrative vices that have made life uncomfortable for them despite the huge federal allocation under the administration of Uduaghan.
They pointed out that Deltans would experience the worst under Obuh leadership hence he would tow the line of his master and dance to his tune once he becomes the governor of Delta State.
“Under Tony Obuh, the people of Delta State will be in hell. We do not see anything good coming from the gentleman hence he will tow the line of Uduaghan who did not perform in his two term in government. Developments of infrastructure were neglected. Where the government remembers to do, the job is abandoned half way. Today, abandoned projects litter the state. From the Ughelli – Asaba Road dualisation project to the Otu Jeremi abandoned stadium, abandoned BRT ptojects both in Warri and Asaba, carcass of abandoned work has become the common site in the state. It is the same scenario all over the state.
“The state also has the unenviable record of awarding the most expensive contracts that were either not executed or abandoned in the country, the educational sector is almost collapsing, the health sector is in shambles, while the roads are in a deplorable condition. In short, Deltans have never had it so bad and for such a failed leadership to impose some one on us is like signing our death warrant of going to hell,” the statement lamented.
The group therefore enjoined the people of Delta State to fight against the imposition of Tony Obuh who had been part of Uduaghan ever since he was Secretary to Delta State Government (SSG), arguing that he would have nothing new to offer the people of the state hence he had been part and parcel of Uduaghan’s poor governance.
The group who called for election of a fresh blood different from Ibori and Uduaghan dynasty reminded the people of Delta state the impact the imposition of Uduaghan by Ibori on the people of Delta State had on them , stressing that another imposition would be worst.
The group condemned those comparing the imposition of Babatunde Fashola by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the people of Lagos State to that of Uduaghan and Obuh stressing that Tinubu performed creditably well in Lagos and it was his good performance that Fashola built on.
“ But for Uduaghan there is nothing to show for it and there is nothing to build on. This is a government by television. Completed projects in Delta State are completed on television, newspapers and bill boards. Thus, if Tony Obuh come on board, he will perform poorly if not worst as he will follow the footsteps of his master whom we have been praying for his departure,” the group affirmed, warning that Deltans should resist any attempt to impose Obuh on them and solicit for a leader who has the quality of Oshiomole of Edo State or Fashola of Lagos state.
