Delta: Garri Seller Abducted in Ughelli Market

LAGOS MAY 22ND (URHOBOTODAY)-There was tension, fear, confusion, tears and anguish as a garri seller was abducted on Tuesday at the ever busy Ughelli Central Market, Ughelli, Delta State under the watchful eyes of buyers and sellers in the market.
The ugly incident which took place at about 2.00 pm took everybody by surprise. The garri seller was who was selling her aware close to the road was approached by a man driving in an SUV car asking her to show him where to purchase live goat. An eye witness told URHOBOTODAY that the girl which is about sixteen years old made frantic effort to describe the location where the stranger could purchase a live goat in the market, but he pretended as if he do not know the place.
According to Urhobotoday source, “The stranger pleaded with her to enter his vehicle so as to take him to where they can purchase the goat. After entering into the car unknown to her that it was deliberate attempt to lure her into the car, the driver drove away to an unknown destination.” While collaborating story of the first eye witness, a trader simply identified as Rose told URHOBOTODAY that the abducted girl was selling her wares by the market side when an unknown man approached her, requesting for the direction on where to purchase goat.
“After she showed him the place to purchase goat, the man pleaded with her to come into his car so as to take him to the place. The woman accepted and she entered into the car. The kidnapper then ran off with a very high speed,” Rose disclosed.
Mrs. Obakpororo, a tomatoes seller in the market told URHOBOTODAY that they were only attracted by the girl’s screaming inside the car as it became clear to her that she had fell into a trap. from the car.
In her words, “I was attending to a customer when I heard her shouting for help. Before we got there the vehicle had sped off.”
