Delta Decides Elects New EXCO, Promises to Continue X-Raying Govt. Activities

Fejiro Oliver
The political theatre in Delta State has taken a new dimension of theatrics as a group known as Delta Decides has elected new executives to pilot the affairs of the pressure group for the next four years. The socio-political group which has been in the fore front of demanding good governance from the electorates in the state is associated for being the first group of intellectuals given to “Let the best candidate govern” and not by zoning.
The swearing in which was held in Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government area of Delta State, saw Mr Darlington Okonma re-elected as the National co-coordinator. While reacting to his re-election, Mr Darlington expressed his joy, thanking the board of trustees chairman and entire members of the group for the confidence reposed in him. He showered gratitude on the group members who showed their love for him and his style of leadership by giving him another chance to lead.
By this singular attitude, he noted that he will not fail. He urged other members of the group who were re-elected and those coming on board to serve the interest of the group and not their personal agenda.
In a release made available to the press, other elected executives are: Deputy Coordinator, Brisibe Perez (Journalist); Secretary, Lady Flora Edafe; Assistant Secretary, Achi Christopher; Financial Secretary, Magbegor Uzezi; Assistant Financial Secretary, Victor Okonji; Treasurer, Edhugo Choice; and Women Leader, Moemeka.
The men behind the press are Tega Oghenedoro, a journalist, Prince Nicholas Ebegboni, Odiri Bella and Johnpaul Okonma, while the mobilization elected members are Oghenero Favour Diwhre, Agbigbe Friday, Igbenedion Macaulay and Jude Imah. M.
The group also has Godspower Onwudiwe as her international correspondent, Agboje Chukwuma as Chief Strategist, while Umudjere Sunday and Barrister Justice Nwabue are the legal advisers resepectively.
In a chat with Delta Decide Secretary, Lady Flora, she said the group will continue to align itself with its visions which are aimed at x-raying the ills of governance as well as making government accountable in their policies and programs.
A source that is conversant with the agitations of the group noted that they have truly held the Delta State government to positive ransom by demanding accountability, but opined that the Delta Central Senatorial district may well be the acid test of the group as they must strive to educate the masses on the choice of candidates. The success or failure of this may either make or mar them like other groups which came before them, but fell by the wayside, or got into “political chop chop” with the oppressor against those they earlier swore to protect.
