Delta: Collapsed MTN Mast Killed One Worshipper, Injured 50 in Urhobo Community
LAGOS APRIL 27TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Tragedy struck on Saturday in Okwagbe an Urhobo community of Ughelli-South Area of Delta State as a Telecom mast belonging to one of the GSM operators, MTN collapsed on a Sabbath Church killing one, with fifty others severely injured during service.
Prince Agulabri was confirmed dead as the church service came to abrupt end, with the injured rushed to various hospitals.
Prince Agulabri, about 36 and native of Okrika, Burutu Local Government Area was dedicating a new born baby when the mass cited in Ayama Hotel in Okwagbe Inland collapsed over a stormy weather and crumbled into nearby St. Lazarus Christ Church Incorporated.
An eye witness told FrontiersNews, “It was so sudden and violent. The mass came down hard on the crowded church and a portion fell directly on the man who died instantly.
“The baby for dedication was right in his hands at that deadly moment, but survived with injuries like over fifty others affected victims who have been rushed for medical attention.
The remains of the dead was being deposited at the Jeremi General Hospital Mortuary at the time of filing this report.
