Hon Sunny Onuesoke

LAGOS SEPTEMBER 5TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain and Delta State Gubernatorial aspirant Hon. Sunny Onuesoke has enjoined the people of Delta Central Senatorial District to vote enmass for the candidate of PDP in the forth coming Delta Central Senatorial election.
Onuesoke who made the appeal recently while playing host to some Delta State delegates after the PDP convention at Abuja, told the delegates that PDP is the only party that can give Urhobo a voice at the National level and also give them a sense of belonging in the scheme of things.
He enjoined the Urhobos to stand firm in their support for PDP and ensure that the party come out victorious in the election so as not allow the newly registered All Progressive Congress (APC) to use the forthcoming Senatorial Bye-Election in Delta Central as a litmus test for their popularity, noting that they have been rejected in other zones.
Onuesoke who is an Environmentalist and Founder of Onuesoke Foundation counseled the Urhobos on the need be wise this time around by joining politics at the National level through the vehicle of PDP so as to avoid neglect and marginalization as witnessed in the past..
” The Urhobo people has suffered neglect as a result of being in opposition at the center. They have been continuously schemed out from their place of glory by deceptive politicians who come out to test their fates. We must not be deceived by those Lagos politicians who are seeking for avenue to grab our resources,” Onuesoko advised, just as he enjoined the delegates to remain steadfast to the party noting that PDP is one big family for all.
He noted that the crisis rocking the party at present is a minor one which is bound to occur whenever there is an interaction between two or more persons, adding that the party has internal mechanism to deal with it and at the end the party will come out stronger.
“It would be recalled that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar had in some years ago mobilized aggrieved party members out of the PDP but later decamped back when he realized that there was no internal democracy in other parties like the PDP,” Onuesoke recalled.
