Anioma born Social Crusader, Akamesike Manuel O'coney

By Oghenekevwe Laba
Anioma born Social Crusader, Akamesike Manuel O’coney, Chief Messenger of Anioma Voice worldwide has during the week challenged Anioma politicians who are aspiring for different elective positions come 2015 to allow their works speak for them rather than embarking on self praises.
Akamesike, who stated this in an online message made available to Urhobotoday, an online media porter, said instead of exchanging words with critics over the issue of performance, they are expected to explain to the people through the media their performance in the development of their community and creation of good welfare for the people.
In his words, ”This is not the time to quarrel or exchange words with people who are asking for the score cards of our political office holders. This is the time for political office holders to prove their worth by mentioning the things they have done to attract development to Anioma land.
“Our dear Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Rt Hon Victor Ochei, Hon Ndudi Elumelu, Hon Ossai Ossai, Hon Victor Nwokolo, Hon. Peter Onwusanya, Hon Pat Ajudua, Hon Alphonsus Ojo, Hon Friday Osanebi, Hon Azuka Azaka, Hon Amaechi Mrakpor, Rt. Hon Sam Obi and Rt. Hon Martin Okonta should visit the media houses one after another and list what they have done for the people since they entered into government.
“You should tell us how many roads you have helped to tar? How many Anioma people who are not politicians and are not members of your party and group that you have empowered or assisted to get jobs? List your achievements for Anioma people to see. If your achievements are satisfactory, it is the people that will even beg you to represent them in government not you trying to use money to buy votes. A golden egg cannot be hidden. Anioma people are not fools. They know what is good and appreciate it when it is seen.”
Speaking further, Akamesike asserted that only little has been achieved in terms of road construction in Asaba compared to what is happening to Warri. He added that for the past twelve years, there have been no improvement on the electricity supply all over Anioma land or remedy to the erosion problem in the zone, yet public office holders are not showing any serious concern over it.
“We want proof on the pages of newspapers and on the social media particularly about what our political office holders have done for us. This is the time to say the truth, not time for sycophants to be singing the praises of their pay masters. This is not time to be afraid of intimidation or death but time to tell our representatives in government to amend their ways and do what they know will move Anioma land forward even now that the zone is working at producing a governor for the state come 2015,” he stated.
