LAGOS JUKY 16TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart and Chairman of Urhobo Political Forum (UPF) Chief Amori has commended Delta State PDP Governorship aspirant for 2015 general election, Obarisi (Barr.) Ovie Omo-Agege saying his contesting for Delta State governorship election has not only made Urhobos proud but has weep away shame and disgrace from their faces.
Amori who made the statement at Mosogar, Ethiope West, Delta State, weekend when Omo-Agege paid UPF consultation visit to abreast them of his intention to contest for the number seat of Delta State, thanked Omo-Agege for making Urhobo proud, explaining that it is only people with the ‘third eye’ that would understand what he meant by “Making us Proud”.
“I am not saying making Amori proud. I am saying for making Urhobo proud. God has made it possible that from today Urhobo suffering has come to an end. There is an Urhobo parables which says “You will know the food that will feed your stomach through the look of the food”. I think from what we have seen so far, Urhobo has no course to be ashamed again. Because Omo-Agege who has expressed his desire to contest the governorship election before us is “Otemu no Ruemu”. That means he is capable,” Amori observed, adding that what he heard from Omo-Agege is of great joy to him.
Continuing he said, “Many of you may not understand what is on ground. And I pray that God will give you the knowledge to understand what is on ground. If you see people like Omo-Agege contesting, it is not him that is contesting. That is why God will give you the knowledge to really understand. If he fails, it is all of us that failed. This is why I want all of you to brainstorm about it. If you look at it from our own experience from 1998 till date, people struggle over sweet thing. We are struggling for something and we did not have capable person to struggle for it. Is it not disgrace? Or let me reverse it. We are struggle for delicious food and finally there is no fish in the food or others have taking the fish is it not what they like they will do to us? That gap, that lacuna has been properly filled today by Omo-Agege. Suppress your personal interest and consider the interest of the Urhobo people in all your political calculation.
“Anytime, Urhobo interest must be protected. We say we are struggling for the position of governor but there was no capable Urhobo candidate. The ones that appeared seem to not be matured enough. That means they will pick up the Urhobos very cheap like snail. We pray they should not pick up easily like snail. The competition is going to be very keen. It is going to be “Edje Kare Edje”.
“If you want to eat toad eat fat juicy toad with egg. I am sure we are seeing a fat juicy toad with eggs today. Whatever route our opponents want to pass we are ready for them. We have what they have. We even have more than them. This is what will make us proud and this how the Urhobos can go into the battle.”
He disclosed that members of UPF will be organizing a rally at Ughelli North LGA on Sunday 20th to make noise in the interest of Urhobo people. He mainatained that if the Urhobos did not show themselves others would think the Urhobos do not have people.
‘We want to show ourselves all the time. If you look at UPF, they are politicians every day. They are not politicians on holiday,” he disclosed.
