Abandoned Keshi Stadium

Miffed by delay in the completion of Asaba Township Stadium, now renamed Stephen Keshi Stadium, the Delta State government has gone spiritual to ensure its speedy completion in six months.
Governor of the state, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, who reacted to this at the Asaba Manner Prayer and Anointing Service, on Friday, said that he had directed the contract be re-awarded and completed within six months.

Rumors had been doing the rounds in the state that the location of the stadium near a cemetery had made it impossible for the stadium to be completed on time.
Many residents of Asaba, according to sources, believed that evil forces inhabiting the cemetery had slowed down the completion of the stadium which had been under construction for many years.
While confirming the belief of many residents of the state that “cemetery issues” were responsible for the delay in the completion of the stadium, Dr Uduaghan said the presence of the founder of Our Daily Manna Devotional, Dr Chris Kwakpovwe, at the prayer programme, was informed by the need to help neutralise any devilish spiritual powers inhibiting the progress of work at the stadium.
The cleric, who prayed for the state and the stadium, said no evil power could hinder the move of God in the state, saying what God had started in Delta, He would definitely complete it.
