Delta Police Rescues Vigilante leader, Septuagenarian from kidnappers’ Den

Police in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Kenneth Akubue, have released the head of vigilante in Sapele, Mr. Randy Tinshe, from kidnappers.
Tinshe was rescued from the kidnappers behind Delta State University of Technology Hospital (DESUTH), Oghara, Delta State during an exchange of gun fire in which the kidnappers fled, on noticing the superior fire power of the police, leaving the victim behind and unhurt. No ransom was paid. In another development, the police in Sapele, in collaboration with the men of Ondo State Police Command, have rescued a septuagenarian victim, Pa Akinyele Akerele, aged 78, from kidnappers.

He was kidnapped last week Tuesday at Igbobin-Ese-Ondo area of Akure in Ondo State, and rescued at Owoyin by Koko water side, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State.
He was rescued hail and hearty and no ransom was paid for his release.
The DPO who confirmed the two incidents to journalists in Sapele said his team will henceforth make the area uncomfortable for kidnappers and all perpetrators of various crimes.
Meanwhile, dare devil armed robbers went on rampage in Sapele on Thursday robbing, killing and maiming occupants of several homes in the area.
In the operation said to have lasted for about an hour, the hoodlums wreaked havoc along several streets, including Commercial Avenue, Okpe Road, Commentary road, Crudas road and Oleh road and carted away cash, jewelries and other valuable items.
They also killed a member of a vigilante group along Oleh road by Ogoro Bar junction.
The DPO of Sapele Police Command, CSP Kenneth Akubue, confirmed the incidents and said the police were closing on the hoodlums with a view to trapping them down.
