Taiga, Okpe Monarch, Barovbe To Attend Urhobo Ladies 50th Anniversary In Lagos

LAGOS NOVEMBER 21ST (URHOBOTODAY)-President- General of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Olorogun Moses Taiga, The Orodje Of Okpe Kingdom, HRM Major General Felix Mujakperuo and Business Tycoon, Olorogun Johnson Barovbe are among the Uurhobo dignitaries expected at 50th year anniversary celebration of Urhobo Ladies Association(ULA) in Lagos.
The President of Uurhobo Ladies Association, Mrs Lydia Imasuen told Urhobotoday that the event will hold at Degrees Event Hall located at Billing Way, Oregun, Opposite UAC (Opposite 7up area) on Sunday, November 25th, by 12 noon.
She disclosed that there will be a lecture on the development of women in Urhoboland, adding that awards will be giving to Urhobo women who have printed their names in gold in the development of women and charity works not only in Urhobo land, but Nigeria as a whole.
“The awardees include Mrs. Clementina Ogodo who was the President of ULA for thirty three years, Mrs. Cecilia Ibru and Prof Rose Aziza among others,” she stated.
Speaking on some of the achievements the organization had recorded, she stated that ULA had rendered several assistance to orphanages and old people homes in Lagos and donated a bulding to Urhobo College, Warri, state .
She enjoined Urhobo women in Lagos and other parts of the country to join the Urhobo Ladies Association so that they can be part of the development of Urhobo land back home, stressing that they can only remember their home when they interact with people from the same area.
Imasuen appealed to Urhobo young ladies to embrace the association so as to move Urhobo and the Association forward hence some of them are getting older and they need the younger generation to take over from them for the sustainability of the Association.
