LAGOS DECEMBER 8TH (URHOBOTODAY)-The crisis rocking Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) leadership is getting intensify as UPU Youth wing of Lagos state pronounced the ex-communication of Chief Joe Omene from any social activities in Lagos state.
The pronouncement was made in a press statement signed UPU Lagos branch Youth President Chief Austin Ojameruaye
Ojameruaye who is also the zonal coordinator of UPU youth south western zone, reiterated that the ban is inevitable hence Omene chose a kangaroo election as a means of ruling Urhobo nation.

He argued that Omene spirit of desperado and “I must rule syndrome” is unacceptable to the youth body, adding that the Lagos state branch of UPU will reach out to the western zone of the body for total rejection of Omene for allegedly committing taboo and sacrilege act on Urhobo nation.
The youths warned that any Urhobo Union, Association or social club that allow Omene to attend any of their events in Lagos will have their ceremony disrupt by the Urhobo youths in Lagos.
Ojeameruaye who said since Omene cannot respect Urhobo Royal fathers, and as such has no business in leading Urhobo nation, regretted that few youths who act as stooge to Omene fail to see the danger ahead.
He called on Urhobo youths home and in Diaspora to rise up to the challenge of ensuring sanity in Urhobo nation so as not to mortgage their future because of peanut.
Ojameruaye who bemoaned the involvement of certain personality in this coup against the Urhobo nation, berated the role played some Urhobo indigenes who are Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SANs) whom he said failed to use their wealth of knowledge and experience to move Urhobo forward.
Ojaneruaye who wondered if the SANs are creating crisis so as to have job for themselves, however reminded them that history will never forgive them.
“Omene has no good intention for Urhobo nation. He is a crisis ridden leader, with little or no knowledge of leadership and administration. His inherited tenure saw crisis with his immediate subordinate, Chief Tuesday Onoge, another crisis with the other executives on allegations of corruption and then the mother of all crisis with all our Royal fathers.
“He showed total lack of respect for our kings. No wonder he scored zero from his Mosogar delegates during the election that brought him in as 1st Deputy President General of our great Union. He chided Omene for his consistent fracas with prominent Urhobos and social groups that are major financier of the UPU.
He also noted that his short inherited tenure also witness the premature death of key executives of the union ( Gen. Aziza, Barrister Livingstone Ojevwe and Chief Odogun.
He alleged that Omene either frustrate opposition to resign or apply suspension tactics to chase major opposition from the leadership train.
Ojameruaye, said as a matter of urgency, the kings, kingdoms President Generals, notable UPU leaders and great Urhobo sons / daughters should meet to conduct a fresh delegates conference within now and January 2017 in order to avoid vacuum in leadership of the Union.
