Bayelsa PDP Slams APC over Bribery Allegation, Urges APC to Settle Amaechi, Umana Cases

By Amos Okioma
LAGOS OCTOBER 24TH (URHOBOTODAY)-The Peoples ?Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa has lambasted the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state for its latest act of mischief and tomfoolery, saying as always Bayelsans and Nigerians will not buy it.
The PDP was reacting to a fresh allegation by the APC to “expose” it’s alleged move to bribe judges of the Supreme Court to award them a favourable judgment in the governorship election appeal before the apex court.
Chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa, Hon. Cleopas Moses described the allegation as outlandish ?and coming from a party who are yet to get their house together since the January 10, 2016 declaration of Governor Seriake Dickson as winner of the governorship poll.
He said the APC is hallucinating over its desire to regain Bayelsa State and urged them to go ahead and name those the PDP allegedly engaged as syndicates to transfer the said funds to the judges, adding that it is only when that is done with verifiable facts that the world can believe them.
“This is another smear campaign against our party. Another lie from the pit of hell aimed at diverting attention from the original plan ?of our trudusters but as always it will not sell because it lacks every attractive ingredient”
Moses ?also reminded the APC that their party has become synonymous with bribing judges and cited the case of Justice Inyang Okoro who accused a former governor of Rivers State and serving Minister of Transport of attempting to bribe him.
The PDP chairman said ” Rotimi Amaechi and Chief Umana all of the APC were accused by Justice Okoro of the? Supreme Court of making moves to bribe him before the Rivers, Abia and Akwa Ibom judgments.
Also another Juctice, Justice Sylvester Ngwuta has accused Mr. Rotimi Ameachi and Dr. Ogbonaya Onu of trying to pervert justice in the governorship election of Ekiti, Ebonyi and Rivers States, these men are all of the APC. So if their colleagues in Bayelsa are accusing us it shows you a desperation on their part to cover up something.
According to him, the PDP believes in the judiciary and are convinced that they convincingly won the governorship election and so they do not need to bribe anyone to manipulate the judgment of the apex court.
The victory of the PDP at the lower is enough reason to show that it will not change at the Supreme Court and called on the APC and its’ candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva to forge ahead rather than dream of coming back to govern the same people who have rejected them.
Hon. Cleopas described the onslaught on the personality of the Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Hon. Jonathan Obuebite as uncalled for, advised members of the drowning APC in the state to look for means of finding lasting solution to the crisis rocking their party.
Obuebite, according to the Chairman has all that it takes to take on the APC at state and national levels on any issues, as his arguments are always laced with facts unlike that of APC members.
Describing Obuebite as a thorough bred politician and season commentator cum analyst, the Chairman further described attacked on his personality as a diversionary tactics which further shows desperation on their part to cover up something”
