Delta: Two Fulani Tanker Drivers Arrested Over Kidnap of SARS Police Officer

LAGOS SEPTEMBER 23RD (URHOBOTODAY)-Two suspects have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a police officer attached to the Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Delta state Police Command.
The SARS officer identified as Emmanuel German was kidnapped Tuesday by unknown gunmen around Ughelli area of the state.
The kidnappers were said to have kept both the family of the officer and the police in Delta in communicado, having refused to make phone contacts to demand for ransom in exchange for the freedom of the man.
It could be recalled that German was transferred from Ughelli where he was officer-in-charge of SARS to Warri few months ago.

A police source said the personal vehicle of the officer was recovered at Agbarho in Ughelli North local government area with his laptop and other gadgets intact.
“But, his service pistol that was not seen when the vehicle was searched, which suggested that the kidnappers may have taken the pistol away, a source said.
Celestina Kalu, police public relations officer for Delta police command while confirming the abduction of the SARS officer said that police is still searching for him.
Meanwhile, a senior police officer attached to SARS in Warri, Delta state, who spoke off record said that two suspects, who claimed they are Fulani indigenes, working as tanker drivers have been arrested in connection with the incident.
“We recovered his jeep the next day at Agbarho with all items including his laptop and other personal belongings intact”, the officer said.
He further explained that “though his service pistol and phone were equally missing, we were able to trace his phone which was in the custody of a Fulani tanker driver in Warri. who claimed that the phone was sold to him by another of his colleagues”.
His words: “The suspects have been arrested and have been taken to Asaba for further investigation”.
