LAGOS SEPTEMBER 19TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos has assured Lagosians of his commitment to complete the 10-lane Lagos Badagry Expressway before the end of his tenure.
The governor gave the assurance at the 80th birthday celebration of His Majesty, De Wheno Aholu Menu-Toyi 1, OFR, The Akran of Badagry Kingdom (Gbagi) which held on Sunday 18th September, 2016 at the Lagos State Government VIP Chalet, Topo-Idale Road, Badagry.

Ambode who was represented by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Lagos West, APC), in his speech, eulogized the Oba of Akran, stating that the celebration was well deserved. “This celebration is well deserved for a Royal Father who had a distinguished professional career as a journalist and is experiencing an impactful reign” the governor said.
“Today, His Royal Majesty has every cause to give glory to God Almighty, the King of kings, for the grace of longevity and the development which his reign of nearly 4 decades has brought to Badagry Kingdom and his subjects.
“This development has contributed and continues to contribute in no small measure to the overall socio-economic prosperity of Lagos state. Notable among these are the ongoing dry sea port projects and the celebrated discovery of oil which has conferred on Lagos State the status of oil producing state and the right to 13% derivation fund from the federation account.”
The governor assured the Oba of Akran of his commitment to ensuring the full protection of rights and interest of the host communities, while he fulfills his promise to open up Badagry through the provision of world class infrastructure that will attract investments for the exploitation of its economic and tourist potentials.
