Urhobo Militants Declare ‘Operation Crocodile Tears’, Blow Up Oil Pipeline

MILITANTS 8
LAGOS AUGUST 30TH (URHOBOTODAY)-At a time when Niger Delta Avengers have declared an end to attacks in the region, an Urhobo militant group, Niger Delta Greenland Justice Movement, NDGJM, has on Tuesday blown up Ogor-Oteri delivery pipeline operated by Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, NPDC, and Shorelines Petroleum Nigeria in Delta State.
In its statement, the group claimed that it was fighting for justice for the Niger Delta people, while groups aligned with Ijaw leader Edwin Clark were simply in it for the money.
“The Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate remains un-derailed in its mission to get justice for the people,” the statement reads. “Those in the field just for the money will quickly rush to align with Pa E.K. Clark’s arrangement because they were, as a matter of fact, created by some people co-traveling with Clark.”
The group maintained that while Mr. Clark is a leader of the Ijaw nation, he cannot claim to speak for all Niger Delta peoples. The militants explained that if negotiations with the federal government are to be fair, all Niger Delta ethnic groups must be represented.
In the statement signed by Aldo Agbalaja, the NDGJM threatened that it would not “sit quietly” while the Nigerian military continues to bombard the region and harm innocent civilians. The group is referring to its defense of the region as “Operation Crocodile Tears,” a response to the Nigerian military’s Niger Delta mission, “Operation Crocodile Smile.”
“It shall from now on be an eye for an eye; for every military atrocity carried out in the creeks and hinterland of the Niger Delta, the Nigerian armed forces will have the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate to contend with,” the statement reads.
The group warned all those working in the region to evacuate, emphasizing that it does not want to harm indigenes.
“To this end, we are alerting all those working in the UQCC/UPS Erhomukokwarien in ughelli, eriemu PIGGING MANIFOLD in Agbarha, OTOROGUN GAS PLANT, OLOMORO FLOW STATION, WARRI REFINERY, PORTHACOURT REFINERY ELEME, OB-OB and OBITE Gas Plants in Omoku to evacuate because what is coming to those facilities are beyond what anybody has seen before [sic],” the militants threatened.
The group concluded its statement by demanding that President Muhammadu Buhari is held responsible for the “genocide” of the Niger Delta people.

  1. Victor Anya says:

Why is The Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate (NDGJM)laying claim to the Urhobo tribe? Is it only Urhobo people that are in that militant group? Has this group seen other militant groups linking themselves with any particular ethnic group? Again, why are they exposing their faces? Have they seen militants exposing their faces to the world? What do they want to achieve by exposing their faces? It is indeed, dangerous and childish to expose themselves to the world.Niger Delta is one, so the militants shouldn’t be discriminating against themselves. They shouldn’t be discrediting Chief E.K.Clark. If NDGJM wants their elders in the negotiation with the federal government, they mention those they want to represent them in the negotiation.Factionalization, discrimination, quarreling among themselves will not solve the Niger Delta underdevelopment. All the people of the Niger Delta should unite and speak with one voice so that Nigeria and the entire world will take them very serious.Unity is strength and power. They should ask Nigerians the following questions: (1) Why does the oil in the Niger Delta belong to all Nigerians but the Granite in Ogun State and other parts of Nigeria belongs to the states that host it and they enjoy the money derive from it all alone? (2) Why are other natural resources such as nickel, bauxite, uranium, coal, gold, silver, lead, precious stones, lime stones etc that are in commercial quantities in other states not mined? (3) Who are Nigerians keeping these natural resources for? (4) Why is it that when an oil pipe gets burst in the Niger Delta, the Nigerian Government would send army to terrorize the area under the guise of searching for oil vandals but when the people of Zamfara, Nasarawa, Osun States etc mine lead and other solid minerals in their land and there is lead poisoning nobody is arrested for such acts?
