LAGOS AUGUST 8TH (URHOBOTODAY)-A Delta State University (DELSU), lecturer has been arrested naked at Wembley hotel for trying to sleep with one of his students, Esther Omokinovo.
The victim told the police on July 19, that her course adviser in Primary/ Nursery Education department at the university has been harassing her sexually and threatening to fail her if she refused to yield to his sexual desire.

Two days after, during Mathematics examination the victim raced to the police station to inform detectives that she has agreed for a particular date for sex with the lecturer.
The state Commissioner of police, Zanna Muhammed Ibrahim at the command headquarters in Asaba, on Saturday, August 6, said the lecturer was caught naked and ready to take on the student.
Ibrahim said: “Based on the complainant’s feigned acceptance of the suspect’s demand, she was taken to Wembley hotel, Abraka, by the suspect on, where detectives were invited and arrested him in the hotel room after he had already undressed.”

  1. No doubt this so-called lecturer is supposed to be a disgrace to an academia that is supposed to be upright and disciplined. His wife, children and king of his town or village should be invited to the police station to see him and pictures of his nakedness. No need saying he must loose his job and be published in all newspapers and the university’s newsletter. But the lecturer is only a miniature of what happens between many tertiary institution lecturers and other staff and students in the process of securing admission, going through their courses, projects, and getting their assignments marked. But will his types ever learn any lesson from this? Is there anyone in the university who has moral right to talk of questioning seriously or disciplining him? Although, he may rather be cautioned for not being smart enough by an authority that even has a bigger skeleton in its bag. The girl involved must be given all the protection necessary and if possible helped to seek transfer to another university far off because in her present institution other lecturers etc who are beds of the same feathers with the culprit would like to make life hell for her and her worthwhile graduation nearly impossible. DTSG, ASUU, NASU etc take note.

Mr Benson I will take it that you are myopic in your reasoning.Does it mean if one person is bad then everyone is bad? Please make valid suggestions and comments when next you write because the system as it is has really changed and there is no way anyone will gang up against a student for standing on the right path. There are still people that fear God and the lecturers involved have been sacked. So don’t go about condemning people as if you never went through the academia.Instead be objective rather than subjective in your reasoning because as it stands it’s really crude.
