Police Trail Lebanese Who Bolt Away with Customers $487,700

LAGOS JUNE 29TH (URHOBOTODAY)-The Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday said that it was on the trail of a Lebanese national , Aly Sayad, over the alleged theft of $487,700 (about N138.9 million) from some Nigerians.
The Spokesperson of the command, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed this to newsmen.

Badmos said that the suspect, whose address was unknown, said that on Tuesday, June 28, at about 7 p.m, one Salisu Shuaib, and two others reported a case of theft.
According to her, other complainants included Abdulsalam Isiaka and Mohammed Grima.
She said they reported that $487,700 (about N138.9 million) was taken by them to the office of the suspect at 5, Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island, Lagos to be exchanged into Naira.
“They stated that the suspect left them in his office on the guise that he was going to the bank to transfer the naira equivalent of the money to their various bank accounts.
“They stated that the suspect bolted away, while they waited endlessly in his office. Ever since, all efforts made by them to trace the suspect have been unsuccessful,’’ Badmos said.
The spokesperson said that the police was on the trail of the suspect, stressing that the case had been transferred to the State CID, Panti St., Yaba for discreet investigation.
