LAGOS JUNE 13TH (URHOBOTODAY)–Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain, Chief Sunny Onuesoke has faulted Delta State All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate in 2019 general election, Chief O’tega Emerhor’s claim that APC would take over the governorship seat of Delta State in 2019.
It would be recalled that Emerhor while addressing party faithful during the grand reception organized for Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has reiterated that its party would take over Delta State from the PDP which it had held in the past seventeen years.

Describing Emerhor’s claim as joke of the century, Onuesoke argued that with the way and manner at which Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa is rapidly going about development in all ramification in the state APC dream of taking over Delta State is a figment of their own imagination.
Onuesoke who said since Okowa came into office, he had won over the souls of people of Delta State including the opposition with his style of administration which had positively affected the socio-economic development of the citizenry of Delta state.
He posited that it would have been better for Emerhor and his APC travelers in the state to join forces with PDP in 2019 instead of dreaming of taking over.
“For instance, in a year PDP administration in the state created a total of 17,173 private sector jobs. This figure consists of 6,800 direct jobs and 10,373 indirect jobs of both skilled and unskilled workers. The same one year, the sum of N546m was disbursed to a total number of 3,110 within the various micro, small and medium enterprises. The achievements of Okowa have taking many youths out of the streets, made them self employed and employers of labour.
“Besides, the first year of Okowa’s administration has witnessed wide range of developments in the construction of roads, markets development and the building of hospitals and schools. To date, at least 54 road construction and rehabilitation contracts have been awarded through the State Tenders Board and the Ministerial Tenders Board. This figure does not include projects executed by the Direct Labour Agency (DLA),” he disclosed.
He said PDP is a winning team in Delta State and no one will want to change a winning team.
Onuesoke who called on Deltans to beware of APC change mantra hence evidence had shown that the party had denied all its promises since it came to power at the federal level advised Deltans to shun Emerhor and his APC antics in the state and rally support for Okowa and PDP in 2019 election.
