Amori, Akpodiete, Makinde, Oboro Mourn Olorogun Felix Ibru
LAGOS MARCH 16TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Prominent Urhobo leaders in person of Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain, Chief Ighoyota Amori, Human Right Lawyer Barr. Christmas Akpodiete, DESOPADEC Managing Director, Williams Makinde and Hon. (Barr) Evelyn Oboro member federal house of representatives Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie federal constituency among others have expressed shock and disbelief on the death of Olorogun (Senator) Felix Ibru.
Amori who said he got the information about the demise of Felix Ibru in United Kingdom (UK) expressed shock over his death while describing him as an accomplished Urhobo man who served Urhobo and Nigerian nation positively in different capacities.
“He is from the Ibru dynasty. He was a governor, a senator, president general of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) and a business mogul. We will all miss him particularly the Urhobo people. We condoleth his immediate family and commiserate with the entire Urhobo nation. May God grant the family and the Urhobo people the fortitude to bear this in repairable lost. May his gentle soul rest in peac,” Amori prayed.
Human Right Lawyer and an astute politician, Barr (Prince) Christmas Akpodiete who described the news of Felix Ibru’s death as shocking said he was deeply saddened by the death of the business mogul.
Speaking to Urhobotoday from his base in United States of America, Akpodiete described Olorogun Felix Ibru amiable life style as inspirational and second to none.
“Despite his enviable achievements, Olorogun was down to earth and full of smiles. Although we mourn his death, we however celebrate his great life.
“My deepest condolences go to Her Excellency Olorogun Matilda Ibru, the children and the entire famed Ibru family. I pray God to grant them and us all the fortitude to bear his demise.
Delta and Nigeria has indeed lost an illustrious son,” he lamented.
On his part, Chief Williams Makinde Managing Director of DESOPADEC describe the death of Felix Ibru as a great lost to Urhobo nation.
“The loss of an Ibru is a great loss to Urhobo. The name Ibru gave an identity to Urhobo people in Nigeria at some point in our history I wish his soul a peaceful rest.”
Member Federal House of Representatives, Hon (Barr) Evelyn Oboro representing Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie) federal constituency, Delta State in a signed press statement described the death of Felix Ibru as “the loss of one of the mirrors that reflects the shadow of the strength of the future Urhobo nation.”
Hon. Oboro said irrespective of who he was the late Felix Ibru was a humble and peaceful person.
“It seems to me that death should have exempted him. However, to God be the glory because death is an inevitable end and a debt all being must redeem. I wish that his gentle soul rest in the bosom of our Lord,” She prayed.
