LAGOS AUGUST 20TH (URHOBOTODAY)-The crisis rocking Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State seems to be getting worst each day thirteen councilors of the Council on Wednesday passed a resolution to suspend the acting Chairman, Stella Dabone indefinitely.
Suspending her in a motion moved by Hon Onoriode Emosone representing Ward 17th , Ekpan 1 of Uvwie LGA and seconded by Hon Martins Akporeho representing ward 9, the councilors accused her of disregarding the order of the House.
In absent of Stella Dabone, the Speaker of the House, Hon Raymond Ebimiwei now became the Acting Chairman of Uvwie LGA.
A letter to that effect titled, “Motion to Suspend Indefiniteky Acting Cchairman of Uvwie Local Government Council Area made available to Urhobotoday an online medium read thus,
“ Whereas on the 5th day of August, 2015, this house in a plenary session made an order freezing all accounts run and maintained by Uvwie local government council in various bank pending when circumstances warranted a reversal of the situation.
“Whereas in disregard of this house, the Acting Chairman of Uvwie LGA directed that all payments due and payable to the council should be paid to individual in defiant of extant laws and the resolution of the House.
“Whereas a follow up to the violation earlier of resolution of the Honourable House, the Acting Chairman of Uvwie LGA acting in concert with intrusive element caused a letter to be contracted and served on the affected banks countermanding and reversing the resolution of this House.
“And consequently, it is hereby order that the Speaker of the Honourable House, Hon Raymond Ebimiwei shall act in the capacity of Acting Chairman pending when the suspended acting chairman purges herself of her impunity and lawlessness.”
