Delta: Residents Desert Ogwashi-Uku as Policewoman Kills Policeman

LAGOS JULY 14TH (URHOBOTODAY)-A female Police Sergeant, simply identified as Helen, has killed her husband in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The victim, identified as Kelechi, who is also a policeman, hails from Imo State.
Kelechi was killed by irates youths in the neighbourhood who were deceived by Helen into lynching him.
The Eagle online gathered that Kelechi who was killed at Umuokwe Quarters in Ogwashi-Uku.
He was said to be legally married to Helen before they drifted apart.

He was on a visit to see the daughter Helen had for him before he met his untimely death.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, who confirmed Helen’s arrest at the command headquarters in Asaba on Monday, said her partners are also in custody.
Kalu said: “The suspect has been arrested and detained along with other culprits who took part in the killing of the policeman.
“The case is currently under investigation.”
An eyewitness said: “Kelechi has lived in this neighbourhood over the years before he was redeployed to one of the Yoruba states.
“He just came into town a day ago and decided to see the daughter Helen had for him when they were together.
“His decision to visit his daughter infuriated Helen who raised the alarm, shouting thief, kidnapper, thief, kidnapper.
“But unknown to some irate youths in the neighbourhood that Kelechi was not a kidnapper, the youths descended on him until one of them used an iron rod to hit the centre of his head and he died on the spot.”
Meanwhile, residents in the locality have deserted their homes for fear of reprisal either by the victim’s kinsmen or the police.
A student, who gave her name as Gift, said the killing of the policeman has brought apprehension to the neighbourhood, adding: “Since last week Thursday, most people living in this vicinity have ran away for their dear lives.
“Even those of us who are students are afraid that police may raid the area again.”
