DELTA ELECTION UPDATES: Majemite, Arunaye Clash in INEC Office as Thugs Assault Journalists

LAGOS MATCH 29TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Thugs loyal to the Ethiope East local government council Chairman , Chief Faith Majemite assaulted journalists present at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC office, Isiokolo.
Trouble started when a chieftain of the Labour Party, LP, Dr Festus Arunaye accosted Chief Majemite in company of her armed police escort and thugs inside the INEC office for allegedly presiding over distribution of voting materials.

In an attempt to capture the scuffle on camera, thugs loyal to the council boss threatened to break the camera of the AIT correspondent and the Vanguard reporter saying: “After this election, I’ld find you to your house and you would have yourself to blame.”
On her part, Chief Majemite questioned the presence of Dr Arunaye in the INEC office while Arunaye alleged that Chief Majemite harassed him when he raised alarm of her presence inside the INEC office despite warnings by the electoral umpire on the presence of politicians with their armed escorts at the various INEC centers.
Meanwhile, distribution of materials in the area was delayed owing to the absence of policemen to accompany the voting materials to their respective wards.
Distribution of materials later started at about 9:30am following the arrival of an 18 seater bus load of policemen from Abraka police station.

  1. the urhobo youths are so chronicaly backward and severely ignorant,just like esau who easily got hungry and sold his birthright for a morsel of food.the urhobos need more of education and enlightenment which

    is the only panacea for growth,this youths are in deep trouble due to bad parenting and societal influence.
