LAGOS FEBRUARY 8TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Ex-militant leader, General Aboy, has alleged that Senator James Manager of Delta South Senatorial District is threatening his life with militants and thugs over what he described as failure of the said senator’s favoured aspirant to clinch the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the National Assembly seat in Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency during the party primary.
Aboy, who spoke to journalists in Bomadi, Bomadi Local Government Area, Delta state, said, during the PDP primary for the Federal House of Representatives, he (Aboy) worked against the favoured aspirant of Senator Manager, hence the plot to take his life.
He explained: “At the end of the recent PDP primary in Bomadi Local Government Area, the aspirant I supported came victorious. “Since then the Senator Manager has been after my life by trying to use policemen, militants and men of the State Security Services to arrest me on the guise that I didn’t submit my arms when the federal government declared amnesty for us the Niger Delta freedom fighters”.
According to Aboy, “the most recent plot by the senator to incriminate me was during the recent PDP governorship rally in Bomadi, when Senator Manager sent some boys to me that he wanted to see me, on getting to him, he slapped me before the public and ordered his security escort and thugs to manhandle me but I managed to escape”.
In a chat with Manager on phone about the allegation, he asked: “How can I, Senator James Manager, a civilian threatens someone’s life?
“Are you not aware of the atrocities committed by this Mr. Aboy during the PDP rally to Bomadi Local Government Area where he injured over 15 persons with dangerous weapons, and they are all receiving treatment in several hospitals in Delta State?
“He is not an ex-militant; he is a militant because he is still in possession of arms that he uses to terrorise innocent Nigerians.“
