Delta 2015: Urhobo Youths Insist on Strict Adherence to ‘Uvwiamuge Declaration’

LAGOS DECEMBER 8TH (URHOBOTODAY)-Urhobo youths has called on Urhobos to strictly adhere to the Uvwiamuge Declaration which had mandated the Urhobos to unite towards provision of Delta State governor in 2015.
The youths threatened that they would ensure that the ruling People Democratic Party (PDP) pay dearly if they mistakenly give the governorship candidate to a non Urhobo.
The group emphasized that the era where Urhobo Youths are taken for granted by either political parties or some individuals in the society is over.

The group under aegis of Ukoko Ighelle Re Urhobo argued that that they would do all that it takes to ensure that the accord of Uviamughe Declaration that was adhere .
The Youths, who gathered during the weekend at Urhobo Cultural Center, Uviamughe – Agbarho stated that they were more determined and united than ever before to ensure that an Urhobo son or daughter emerge as the next governor of the state.
The president of the newly inaugurated interim leaders of the UPU Youth wing otherwise known as Ukoko Ighelle Re Urhobo, Comrade Igho Anthony Ovie disclosed that the gathering became necessary so as to tell the world that Urhobo Youths are solidly behind the Uviamughe Declaration.
His words, “we have come to announce to the world that we the Youths of Urhobo Nation will give our life and flesh to the historic declarations of our fathers. We have come to announce our readiness
and wiliness to co-ordinate at the unit, community, clan levels to mobilize the over one million Urhobo Youths to ensure that our votes are not comprised”.
The number one Urhobo Youth wing used the opportunity to call on PDP Delegates especially Urhobo delegates to ensure that they vote an Urhobo person. He said should they (PDP) fail to give the ticket to an Urhobo person, the Urhobo Nation would be left with no other option than to vote for an opposition party at the state and national level in the upcoming general election a situation that will bring about the downfall of the party at the state.
His words, “May I use this occasion to call on all Urhobo delegates of the People Democratic party (PDP) whose governorship primaries comes on Monday (8th December, 2014) to know that they are first and foremost Urhobo and as such should stand up to the needful defending of the
Uviamughe declaration. Should they fail to stand up and enforce the Uviamughe declaration, then let it be known that they have invoked generational curse of slavery upon themselves and their children and we shall join the Egweyah to dance naked in invoking curses upon them”.
