Delta 2015: Clark Blesses Omo-Agege, Warns Uduaghan against Imposition of Candidate

Chief Edwin Clark (l) and Obaisi (Barr) Ovie Omo-Agege

LAGOS SEPTEMBER 8TH (URHOBOTODAY)-National Leader, Chief Edwin Clark showered prayers and blessing on Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship aspirant, Obaisi (Barr) Ovie Omo-Agege on his quest to occupy the position of Delta State governor come 2015.
The political leader also enjoined Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan to advise those using his name to impose a governor on the people of Delta State to desist from the act as past experience distabilise the state.

Blessing of Omo-Agege and warning Uduaghan against imposition of candidate were made when Omo-Agege paid a consultation visit to Chief E.K. Clark at his country home at Kiagbodo, Delta State recently to intimate him about his intention to contest for the governorship position of Delta State.
While praying for Omo-Agege, Clark asked God to grant Omo-Agege his heart desire and give him the courage and wisdom to prosecute his projects.
Hear him, “Whoever brings kola-nut to you want life. He need your prayers and he needs good life. God will grant all this to you. God will give you good life, long life and he will lead your way for you. God will give you the courage and the wisdom to prosecute your project.”
Probably reacting to rumour making the rounds about a group who claimed Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan had allegedly instructed them to project a governorship aspirant that would take over from him in 2015, Chief Edwin Clark had warned the Governor not to make any attempt to impose a governorship candidate on the people of Delta state as it would not augur well for the peaceful coexistence of the people of the state.
Clark pointed out that the people of Delta state would be able to choose a man of timber and caliber, a man who is confidence, a man who is honest, a man who is transparent and a man who had good record and the right time, adding that he should not have the believe that the people of the state are illiterate.
He also urged Uduaghan to advise those using his name to project or impose a governorship candidate on the people of Delta State to stop it as one single person cannot make the governor of Delta State.
“It is unfair for one single person to impose a candidate on anybody. We all have a stake. People have been coming here to seek my consent to grant their intention and many more people will come. I cannot endorse them but only give them my blessing.
“Recently, we sat down and we agreed that not one single person can make the governor of Delta State. I told him to advise those using our names to project or endorse a governor for the state to stop it. This state is not meant for rascals. This state is not meant for people who did not go to school and want to be governor.
Referring to problem generated in the past as a result of alleged imposition of Emmanuel Udughan by Chief James Ibori on the people of Delta State, the Elder Statesman recalled, “ At the end of Ibori’s tenure, different aspirant were jostling for the position of Governor of Delta State. They were all consulting as you are doing now. Before we know what was happening, a kangaroo primary was held at Ugwachukwu and Uduaghan was imposed on us by Ibori. We say no. We take the fight to Agbor and Abuja. Delta State was divided. There was no peace. The rest of that imposition is now history. I will say that when the time of his final departure from the seat of Governor comes, we will conduct a good farewell party for him as a friend of everybody. He should not impose anybody on us.
” I am also using this occasion to advise those who want to be governor to desist from using the name of the governor. They should not gather together all members of House of Assembly who suppose to be making laws in the house against their colleague by using the names of people in government. That should be stopped.
“The people of this state will be able to choose a man of timber and caliber, a man who is confidence, a man who is honest, a man who is transparent and a man who had good record. The people will choose their man. Do not think that they are illiterate.”
