According to our source, the fully armed gunmen who were three in number , stormed the school premises and kidnapped the teachers under the watchful eyes of students and other teachers who watched helplessly. While on their way out, the gunmen also kidnapped an engineer who works as a contractor in the community.

The gunmen who stormed the community on a motocycle left the school premises in a car which belonged to one of the kidnapped teachers. Members of the community later contacted a neary by police station and officers of the police are currently searching for the gunmen.. On the same day, the car was found abandoned in a nearby village but the kidnapped persons were nowhere to be found.
Although the motive of the kidnap is still unknown , police officers are currently on the matter and it shouldnt be long before the kidnappers are found.
In another development, barely one week after Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan expressed concern over marauding herdsmen in Delta State communities, the state Police Command says it has recovered a military rifle and live ammunition believed to have been abandoned by fleeing herdsmen, following a police chase. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Celestine Kalu, in a statement, said: “Following a distress call that some armed men were seen in Okpara bush, a team from the Isiokolo Division swiftly mobilised to the scene where six armed herdsmen were found.
“The herdsmen, after trying to use their cows to frighten the policemen to no avail, opened fire on the team and escaped. When the bush was combed, one AK 50 military rifle with S/No. BW 2748 and 152 rounds of live ammunition believed to have been abandoned by the fleeing herdsmen, were recovered.”
Kalu added that investigation was in progress, while efforts were on to track down the fleeing criminals.
In a related incident, the Delta State Police Command has shot and killed a suspected armed robber while allegedly attempting to escape from custody at the Police ‘B’ Division, Warri. Kalu explained that the late robbery suspect, Akporobo Oyibode, was among a gang of four caught robbing a business centre last Wednesday on Okere/Ugborikoko Road, Warri, by men of the Warri ‘B’ Divison.
